With an extensive background in construction and facility operation and maintenance, Don Tomasik has successfully served in a variety of senior management positions in higher education, local government and the military. His most recent achievement was overseeing the largest reconstruction effort ever undertaken at The Citadel during his 14 years as Vice President for Facilities and Engineering. Don’s knowledge and experience on the funding, programming and administrative approval of construction-related initiatives give him a valuable perspective on the issues and challenges involved in facilities management.

The American Society of Civil Engineers has honored Don with the designation of Eminent Engineer for his career achievements. His management experience beyond higher education ranges from functioning as a project engineer and construction manager to serving as a city manager and director of public works. His construction accomplishments include roads, airfields, buildings and utility infrastructure projects.

Don served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 27 years in various command and staff positions throughout the world. With the experience of overseeing dozens of multi-million-dollar projects, Don understands the complex issues involved in the funding, administrative approvals and management of construction-related initiatives.
